1. Information we collect
When you submit a project request, review, referral, or automated-help conversation, SiteSmith may collect the information you choose to provide. This may include your name, email address, business name, project details, budget range, review, rating, referral contact information, chat questions, preset assistant replies, page address, timestamps, and a conversation identifier. Please do not submit sensitive information such as passwords, payment card details, private account access, government identification numbers, or health information.
2. How we use information
We use submitted information to respond to inquiries, prepare project recommendations or proposals, provide website services, manage client relationships, review feedback, administer the referral program, prevent misuse, conduct service research, and improve our support and services. We do not sell personal information.
3. Form and email providers
Website forms and automated-help transcripts are processed by FormSubmit and delivered to SiteSmith through Gmail. Those providers may process submission and technical information under their own terms and privacy policies. Social-media links lead to TikTok and Instagram, whose privacy practices apply after you leave this website.
4. Automated help chat
SiteSmith Help is a free rule-based assistant that uses preset information and is not an artificial-intelligence model or a person. Before the chat begins, you must separately agree that the full conversation—including your messages and the automated replies—will be emailed to SiteSmith and may be reviewed by a person for customer support, service research, and improvement. Transcripts are sent after inactivity, when the help window is closed, when you select “End & email chat,” or when the website receives a page-exit signal. Technical limitations may occasionally prevent delivery. SiteSmith aims to delete chat transcripts within 30 days unless they are reasonably needed for an active inquiry, business records, dispute resolution, security, or legal obligations.
5. Cookies, local storage, and technical data
SiteSmith uses essential local browser storage to remember your acceptance of the Terms and acknowledgement of the Privacy & Cookie Notice. The stored record contains an acceptance status, policy version, and timestamp—not your project details. Our hosting provider may process routine technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, requested pages, timestamps, and security logs to deliver and protect the website. SiteSmith does not currently set its own advertising cookies or sell browsing information. See the Privacy & Cookie Notice for more detail.
6. Sharing
We may share information with service providers that help operate this website, deliver email, or provide requested business services. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights or users, or as part of a business transfer. We do not authorize service providers to use submitted information for unrelated purposes.
7. Retention and security
Except for the chat-transcript target described above, we retain information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, business records, dispute resolution, or legal obligations. We use reasonable safeguards, but no online transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
8. Your choices
You may ask us to correct or delete information you submitted, or ask us not to use it for future contact, by emailing sitesmith.websites@gmail.com. We may retain limited information when legally required or reasonably necessary for business records and security.
9. Children
This website is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly request personal information from children under 13.
10. Policy changes
We may update this policy as our services or legal obligations change. The updated date above will show when the policy was revised.
11. Contact
Questions about this policy can be sent to sitesmith.websites@gmail.com.
This policy is a general operational template and is not legal advice. SiteSmith should have it reviewed by a qualified attorney for the locations and customers it serves.
